Iced Matcha Latte

If you love the idea of coffee but hate the jitters, crashes, and weird anxious energy... this one's for you.

This Thermomix Iced Matcha Latte is my current obsession because it gives me that calm, steady focus without the rollercoaster. Matcha has naturally occurring compounds (hello, L-theanine) that help you feel alert + grounded instead of wired and frazzled.

And the best part? When you make it in the Thermomix, it turns out ridiculously smooth — no clumps, no gritty bits, no "green swamp water" vibes. Just creamy, café-level matcha in seconds.

Why Matcha Hits Different (In a Good Way)

Here's why matcha is such a win if you're trying to feel better day-to-day:

• No jitters, no crash: You get a slower-release energy that lasts longer.

• Antioxidant-rich: Matcha is loaded with powerful plant compounds.

• Gentler option: Many people find it easier on digestion than strong coffee.

• Great for busy days: Calm focus > chaos energy.

If coffee makes you feel like a productive squirrel for 45 minutes and then ruins your mood... matcha is your upgrade.

  • Serves:  1 glass
  • Time: 6 min
INGREDIENTS
60 g filtered water
2 tsp honey
1 tsp high-quality matcha powder (to taste)
200g milk of choice
½ tsp vanilla extract
ice, to serve

 METHOD

• Add the water and honey to the Thermomix bowl and Warm Up /80°C.
• Add the matcha powder and mix 10 sec/speed 3. Scrape down the sides and repeat if needed until completely smooth and dissolved.
• Add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix 10 sec/speed 5
• Fill a glass with ice and pour the matcha mixture over the top. Serve immediately.

TIPS:

Matcha quality matters: bright green matcha will taste smooth and naturally sweet, while dull green can be bitter. be sure to use pure matcha powder, not a sweetened mix

Avoid boiling water — it makes matcha harsh and astringent.

For extra froth, blend the final step 10 sec / Speed 7.

Adjust milk quantity slightly for a stronger or lighter flavour.

Dairy-free: use homemade cashew or hemp milk for extra creaminess

Spiced: add a pinch of cardamom or nutmeg

Less sweet: reduce honey to 1 tsp or omit entirely

Double everything to make two serves
